Au sujet de Budapest, Hungary

Budapest from Gellert Hill

More Budapest Photos
Built on the River Danube and divided into two distinct sides, Budapest is a city that still bears the scars of communism but one that is constantly developing into one of the world's greatest capitals.

Originally a Roman fortress, it served as a trading town for the Roman Empire, it has also been a Renaissance centre as well as a commercial centre and attracted immigrants such as Jews.

Today this sprawling city isn’t a city that needs a number of days to really appreciate. One needs to devote enough time to really appreciate the Buda side (west of the Danube) and the Pest side (east of the Danube). Those that do will appreciate the city’s imposing architecture, natural hot springs and more.
